This Week in High School Sports: 9/6/19
September 6, 2019
This week's edition leads off with Jenison golf's remembrance of teammate Sydney Carfine, hands out Game Balls to Hartland's girls and boys cross country teams and the Cadillac volleyball team, explores football rules changes enhancing safety in "Be the Referee" and explains the ridiculousness of equating new football practice contact restrictions with Michigan athletes "falling behind" in the sport.
The 5-minute program, powered by MI Student Aid, leads off each week with feature stories from around the state from the MHSAA’s Second Half or network affiliates. "Be The Referee," a 60-second look at the fine art of officiating, comes in the middle of the show and is followed by a closing MHSAA "Perspective."

"This Week in High School Sports" returns with a look back at past MHSAA athletes who competed at the recent Summer Olympics and an introduction of our "Century of School Sports" celebration in honor of the MHSAA's 100th anniversary. We also present Game Balls to high achievers in golf, soccer and cross country.
The 5-minute program each week includes feature stories from MHSAA.com or network affiliates, along with "Be the Referee," a 60-second look at the fine art of officiating.
