This Week in High School Sports: 9/2/16
September 2, 2016
The latest edition of "This Week In High School Sports" features the newest Flint-area cross country contender, explains the 40-second clock experiment in football and tells of three new stadiums that opened last week.
The 5-minute program, powered by MI Student Aid, leads off each week with feature stories from around the state from the MHSAA’s Second Half or network affiliates. "Be The Referee," a 60-second look at the fine art of officiating, comes in the middle of the show; and is followed by a closing MHSAA "Perspective."

This first edition for the 2023-24 school year promotes our coverage of all things school sports on MHSAA.com, presents Game Balls to high achievers in cross country, volleyball and soccer; discusses some of the differences between high school and college or professional football rules, and provides some of the storylines from our summer “Made in Michigan” series on past headliners and what they’re doing now.
The 5-minute program each week includes feature stories from MHSAA.com or network affiliates, along with "Be the Referee," a 60-second look at the fine art of officiating.
"This Week in High School Sports" is powered by MI Student Aid, a part of the Office of Postsecondary Financial Planning located within the Michigan Department of Treasury.
