"This Week in High School Sports" returns for the 2020-21 school year this week with perspective on educational athletics amid the COVID-19 pandemic from MHSAA Executive Director Mark Uyl.

The 5-minute program leads off each week with feature stories from around the state from the MHSAA’s Second Half or network affiliates. "Be The Referee," a 60-second look at the fine art of officiating, comes in the middle of the show and is followed by a closing MHSAA "Perspective."

This week's edition announces the return of MHSAA Sportsmanship Summits, presents Game Balls to standouts in girls golf, volleyball and football; explains the ways a soccer goal can be scored off a direct kick, and tells the Title IX story of graduated Owosso softball ace Macy Irelan.
