This Week in High School Sports: 8/25/17

The first edition of "This Week In High School Sports" for 2017-18 features the findings of the MHSAA’s 2016-17 Concussion report, addresses a rules change to blind side blocking in football and concludes with an "MHSAA Perspective" about referee Steve Johnson, who returns to the games after a bout with cancer.
The 5-minute program, powered by MI Student Aid, leads off each week with feature stories from around the state from the MHSAA’s Second Half or network affiliates. "Be The Referee," a 60-second look at the fine art of officiating, comes in the middle of the show and is followed by a closing MHSAA "Perspective."

This week's edition highlights a history-making all-woman football officiating crew, presents Game Balls to high achievers in volleyball, tennis and football; and notes the end of a record football winning streak.
The 5-minute program each week includes feature stories from MHSAA.com or network affiliates, along with "Be the Referee," a 60-second look at the fine art of officiating.
