This Week in High School Sports: 12/22/17

This week’s show previews the Public Address Announcers Clinic to be hosted by the MHSAA next month, passes out Game Balls to former Stockbridge football standouts Mason Gee-Montgomery and Kolby Canfield and closes with a look at some of the most memorable high school moments of the 2017 calendar year.
The 5-minute program, powered by MI Student Aid, leads off each week with feature stories from around the state from the MHSAA’s Second Half or network affiliates. "Be The Referee," a 60-second look at the fine art of officiating, comes in the middle of the show and is followed by a closing MHSAA "Perspective."

This week's edition explains a rule change allowing Michigan schools to play opponents from anywhere in the United States, presents Game Balls to high achievers in soccer, cross country and football; discusses some of the similarities between high school and college or professional football rules, and highlights recent record book updates for football.
The 5-minute program each week includes feature stories from MHSAA.com or network affiliates, along with "Be the Referee," a 60-second look at the fine art of officiating.
