Perspective: Value ... and Values

In this week's edition of MHSAA Perspective, John Johnson talks about what a great value high school sports are and the lifetime values they teach young people.
Now in its 10th season, the radio commentary MHSAA Perspective – presented by the Michigan Army National Guard – airs on over 80 radio stations and audio outlets across the state, generally during the local broadcasts of high school games. The program runs for 30 weeks through the end of the winter sports season.

This week's edition discusses how Michigan Power Ratings are used to seed soccer, awards Game Balls to standouts in football, tennis and cross country; explains a game clock rule change in football and tells the Title IX story of graduated Fenton swimming standout Gracie Olsen.
The 5-minute program each week includes feature stories from MHSAA.com or network affiliates, along with "Be the Referee," a 60-second look at the fine art of officiating.
