If you were able to escape all 4,864 angles of the NBA’s hottest sensation Jeremy Lin going “rags-to-riches” all over the Internet this week, you might’ve discovered these little morsels scattered about.

1. Phi Slama Jama

By now, you've figured out that we're dunk fans (who isn't?). ... The title of this clip might be a little hyperbolic, but it's still a pretty nifty jam.  I imagine the play-call went something like this: "Okay.  Whistle blows, you run, I'll heave it."

2. Just like the pros

It was bound to happen sooner or later ... ice hockey makes its long-awaited #SocialStudies debut in Week 3. Reigning Division 1 runner-up Orchard Lakes St. Mary will look to return to CompuWare Arena in March; for now, senior captain Luke Rodgers (#87) is content to flaunt some "stick trickery."

3. It's almost time

One of our most popular and well-liked promo pieces resurfaces this week: the Individual Wrestling Championships will take place March 1-3 at The Palace of Auburn Hills. Tickets are available for purchase through the Palace Box Office starting at 9 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 29.

For now: get hyped.

4.  'This is crazy'

And lastly, a non-video story that caught our attention.  Social networks like Facebook and Twitter instigate a smattering of negative celebrity chatter – and rightly so, in some cases. But, on occasion, there are tales of someone using a service to extend itself in a capacity that wasn’t available a decade ago.

CNBC’s Darren Rovell writes about an astonishing week in the lives of a Twitter fan and a superstar (who formerly starred at Central Michigan).

'Best of 13-14' continues on MHSAA.tv

The fifth week of  "Best Of 2013-14” offerings will be featured on the MHSAA.tv Website this week.

For eight weeks over the summer, MHSAA.tv will spotlight some of the best tournament action from the 2013-14 school year, presenting four games each week.

Each contest will be easily identified with a “Best Of 13-14” thumbnail on the home page of the MHSAA.tv Website. Here’s a look at the games which will be featured from July 21-28:

  • Grand Rapids South Christian v. Pontiac Notre Dame Prep: 2013 Class B Girls Volleyball Final. Katherine Carlson delivers 25 kills for Notre Dame Prep in a 3-1 decision over South Christian.

  • Muskegon v. Birmingham Brother Rice: 2013 Division 2 Football Final. In the final game of Al Fracassa’s coaching career, the Warriors bust the game open in the fourth quarter to top the Big Rads, 38-21.

  • Farmington Hills Mercy v. Bloomfield Hills Marian: 2014 Class A Girls Basketball  Semifinal. This was the fourth meeting of the two schools, which split their-regular season games, and then Mercy won the Catholic League championship game. Marian, however, was not to be denied, finishing the game with a 17-7 run and winning 67-55.

  • Kalamazoo Christian v. Rogers City: 2014 Division 4 Softball Final. Morgan Hall stroked a double in the top of the seventh inning to drive in Sarah Meredith with what proved to be the winning run for the Hurons in their 3-2 decision over K-Christian.

Technical difficulties prevented this year’s MHSAA Girls Lacrosse Finals from being streamed live on MHSAA.tv in June, but both championships games are now available. In the Division 1 finale, Rockford defeated Ann Arbor Pioneer, 16-7, while in the Division 2 championship, East Grand Rapids was an 11-7 winner over Okemos.

During the course of the 2013-14 school year, over 3,000 events were produced on MHSAA.tv by PlayOn! Sports and MHSAA member schools participating in the School Broadcasting Program, covering everything from athletics to announcements to commencements to the performing arts and school board meetings.
