First Scholar-Athletes Coming Tuesday

The MHSAA's first set of 2011-12 Scholar-Athlete Award winners, for Class C and Class D, will be announced Tuesday. Four were selected from Class D, and six were picked from Class C schools.
Class B and Class A recipients will be announced over the next three weeks. Check back Tuesday for more.

Each fall, members of the MHSAA Student Advisory Council provide us with a slice of their communities along with a slice of the Council's belief statement, with their videos combined to contribute this important message to MHSAA broadcasts throughout the school year.
This year's eight seniors are Kannon Duffing, Manchester; Claire Gorno, Gaylord; M'Khi Guy, Muskegon; Dawsen Lehew, Marcellus; Christian Sanders, Detroit Renaissance; Ben Sytsma, Grand Rapids Christian; Madeline Werner, Bay City All Saints; and DaNia Womack, Dearborn Advanced Tech Academy.
They are joined by eight juniors: Cale Bell, Sault Ste. Marie; Drew Cady, Oxford; Macy Jenkins, Milford; Isaiah Kabban, Harbor Beach; Ella Knudsen, Leland; Kaylee Kranz, Clinton; Joey Spada, Kalamazoo Central; and Aynalem Zoet, Grandville Calvin Christian.
