Top-ranked teams in golf, swimming & diving and volleyball faced off all over the Lower Peninsula on Thursday, providing some telling finishes as we near the end of the short holiday week.

Each weekday during the school year, we’ll gather and post media links covering the most significant and intriguing high school events from all over the state.

Girls Golf

Division 1 top-ranked Rochester shot 309 to finish one stroke ahead of No. 9 Brighton and win the Holt Invitational – Livingston Daily

Traverse City West’s Anika Dy continued her special season with a course record-tying 67 to lead the No. 2 Titans to another victory at the Petoskey Invitational at Bayview Country Club – Traverse City Record-Eagle

Girls Swimming & Diving

Division 1 No. 6 Northville just got past Division 2 No. 4 Grosse Pointe South by capturing all three relays – Observer & Eccentic

Volleyball

Class A No. 8 Clarkston moved to 15-1 with a sweep of No. 9 Macomb Dakota, Birmingham Seaholm and Bloomfield Hills Marian – Oakland Press

St. Clair Shores Lakeview downed South Lake and then edged Lake Shore to win the “War on the Shores” city championship – Macomb Daily
