1. Girls Golf: Muskegon Reeths-Puffer shot a 325 to take a six-stroke lead on Grand Rapids Forest Hills Northern during the first round of the annual Lober Classic at Grand Traverse Resort; Forest Hills Northern won Lower Peninsula Division 2 last season, and Reeths-Puffer was third – Traverse City Record-Eagle

2. Boys Tennis: Traverse City West won the Saginaw Heritage Invitational, followed by Midland; Midland made the LPD1 Finals last fall – Midland Daily News

3. Girls Tennis: Marquette won its second straight match in two days by an 8-0 score, this time over Gladstone; Marquette was the UPD1 runner-up last season – Escanaba Daily Press

Girls Tennis: From Wednesday, Negaunee downed Ishpeming Westwood 7-1 in an opening matchup between annual Upper Peninsula powers; Negaunee has won four straight U.P. Division 1 titles and Westwood has won eight of the last nine in UPD2 – Marquette Mining Journal

1. GIRLS GOLF Brighton – top-ranked in Lower Peninsula Division 1 – carded a 314 at Oakland Hills to finish second to Ohio power Medina Highland at the Crain Homes Invitational; No. 2 Rochester was fourth and second among Michigan teams – Livingston Daily Press & Argus

2. CROSS COUNTRY Otsego swept Shamrock Invitational championships at Berrien County Fairgrounds – Athletic.net | Niles Daily Star

3. GIRLS GOLF Remus Chippewa Hills carded a 382 to win the St. Ives Tournament by 18 strokes – Big Rapids Pioneer

4. BOYS SOCCER Division 3 No. 3 Detroit Country Day downed Division 2 No. 14 Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook Kingswood 3-2 – Oakland Press

5. CROSS COUNTRY The Carleton Airport girls, New Boston Huron boys and both Monroe St. Mary Catholic Central teams celebrated victories at Erie Mason’s Frank Connolly Relays – Monroe News

6. BOYS SOCCER Division 1 No. 9 Grand Rapids Forest Hills Northern won a match of undefeated teams 3-1 win over Byron Center – FOX17

7. VOLLEYBALL Division 3 No. 8 Shelby opened league play with a sweep of Mason County Central – MI Sports Now

8. BOYS SOCCER Easton Lopez scored four goals in Muskegon Mona Shores’ win over Muskegon High – Local Sports Journal

9. VOLLEYBALL Iron Mountain swept Norway during Parent Night, coming back from a 10-2 deficit in the first set – Upper Michigan Source
