The final weekend of this girls basketball season saw two new champions and two of Michigan's most established programs leave the Breslin Center with 2016-17 MHSAA titles.
Girls Basketball
Class A: Flushing entered the postseason unranked but ended as No. 1 in Class A with a Finals victory over East Kentwood – Second Half
Class B: Detroit Country Day won its second title in three seasons to celebrate coach Frank Orlando's 50th season as a high school coach – Second Half
Class C: Detroit Edison Public School Academy finished a run that included its first District title and set the stage for a repeat or two over the next few seasons – Second Half
Class D: Pittsford completed a second straight perfect season and a four-year run of 103-2 – Second Half

1. VOLLEYBALL Onaway defeated Posen and Rogers City for the Presque Isle championship – Cheboygan Daily Tribune
2. VOLLEYBALL Kingsley, Division 2 No. 2 Leland and Traverse City Central all went 2-1 at the ABCD quad with Division 3 No. 9 Traverse City St. Francis – Traverse City Record-Eagle
3. VOLLYBALL Gabby Bryja went over 2,000 career assists as Division 4 top-ranked Adrian Lenawee Christian swept honorable mention Waterford Our Lady of the Lakes – Adrian Daily Telegram
4. VOLLEYBALL Sturgis went undefeated at the Mendon quad with wins over New Buffalo, Homer and the Division 4 No. 4 Hornets – Sturgis Journal

BASKETBALL The Ithaca and Alma areas are among those mourning the death of longtime coach Bob Anderson, who total coached 52 seasons of girls and boys basketball and led varsity teams to 1,145 wins – Mount Pleasant Morning Sun
