Boys basketball season tipped off across Michigan on Monday. The schedule featured few games – most teams will get started this evening – but below we’ve included coverage we gathered from the state’s news media sites.
1. Boys Basketball: Highly-regarded Ypsilanti Lincoln freshman Emoni Bates scored 32 points to lead his team past Ann Arbor Huron 80-69 in his varsity debut – Ann Arbor News
2. Boys Basketball: Reigning Class C champion Detroit Edison came back from a 10-point deficit to down Canton 69-66 – Detroit News
3. Boys Basketball: Leroy Pine River earned an overtime win over Houghton Lake, 64-58 – Cadillac News
4. Boys Basketball: Goodrich downed Burton Atherton 65-51 behind 25 points from Tyson Davis – Flint Journal
5. Boys Basketball: Boyne City opened with a 60-28 win over Sault Ste. Marie – Petoskey News-Review

1. BOYS TENNIS No. 3 Maple City Glen Lake claimed three singles flights to clinch its first Regional team title since 2002, finishing just ahead of No. 3 Traverse City St. Francis in Lower Peninsula Division 4 – Traverse City Record-Eagle
2. BOYS TENNIS Holland West Ottawa and Rockford shared the championship at their LPD1 Regional – Holland Sentinel
3. GIRLS GOLF Petoskey edged Cadillac by a stroke to win their LPD2 Regional – Traverse City Record-Eagle
4. BOYS TENNIS Host and top-ranked Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook Kingswood was first, Goodrich was second, and Bay City John Glenn earned its first Finals berth coming in third at their LPD3 Regional – Bay City Times
5. BOYS SOCCER Adrian Lenawee Christian edged Manchester 2-1 in a Division 4 District opener – Adrian Daily Telegram
6. BOYS SOCCER No. 12 Berkley held off Birmingham Groves 3-2 in Division 1 – Oakland Press
7. BOYS SOCCER No. 6 Grand Blanc advanced in Division 1 with a 2-0 shutout of Flushing – WJRT
8. BOYS SOCCER Battle Creek Harper Creek scored the lone goal in its Division 2 game against Marshall – Battle Creek Enquirer
9. BOYS SOCCER Midland Dow downed Midland High 4-0 in Division 1 – Midland Daily News
10. BOYS SOCCER Dearborn edged Dearborn Heights Crestwood 2-1 in Division 1 – Dearborn Press & Guide
