Thursday’s Volleyball Semifinals set up two championship-deciding rematches, while athletes across the Lower Peninsula readied for the Swimming and Diving Finals beginning today.

Port Huron Northern diver Hallie Roman finished first in every competition during the regular season and became her school’s first MHSAA finalist in the sport since 2010 – Port Huron Times-Herald

Romeo will play for a second straight Class A title after downing Livonia Churchill in five sets in Class A – Macomb Daily

Top-ranked Novi earned an MHSAA Final rematch with Romeo by sweeping No. 3-ranked Grand Rapids Christian – Oakland Press

Battle Creek St. Philip will play for its 10th straight MHSAA championship after edging top-ranked Plymouth Christian in the first match of the day – Battle Creek Enquirer

Leland also earned an MHSAA Finals rematch in Class D with a win over Mount Pleasant Sacred Heart – Traverse City Record-Eagle

2. CROSS COUNTRY The St. Joseph girls and Kalamazoo Central boys paced solid fields to win the Portage Earlybird Invitational – Niles Daily Star | Athletic.net

4. VOLLEYBALL Lake City swept Beaverton, Manistee, Charlevoix twice, Grayling and Kingsley in winning the Kingsley Invitational – Cadillac News

5. VOLLEYBALL Kingsford won its invitational with a 9-1 record and 2-0 victory over Crystal Falls Forest Park in the final – Iron Mountain Daily News

6. GIRLS SWIMMING & DIVING Standish-Sterling’s Scarlet Maison was the star of the Bobcat Pentathlon at Bay City John Glenn – Bay City Times

7. CROSS COUNTRY The Frankenmuth and Midland Dow girls and Traverse City Central boys were among champions at St. Johns’ Under the Lights Invitational – Midland Daily News | Athletic.net
