Student Broadcasters Make Their Calls at Comerica

Sports broadcasting students from Montrose, Davison and Lowell high schools attended Thursday’s Detroit Tigers/Oakland A’s game at Comerica Park – and got a chance to practice calling the game.
The students recorded themselves doing the play-by-play and color commentary. Meanwhile, Bally Sports Detroit reporter Johnny Kane interviewed Montrose’s Danny Sackrider and Owen Leitelt during the game and gave the duo a chance to show off their best home run call.
Sackrider and Leitelt recently were named the Best Sports Announcing Team in the high school division by the Michigan Association of Broadcasters. Their home runs calls are part of the interview below:

The latest State Champs Sports Network's “Clip of the Week” captures Davison's Caleb Smith intercepting a Utica Eisenhower pass in the end zone and returning it for a touchdown in last week's Regional Final win.
