Rockford, Canton Win for PSA Prowess

For their work getting out the good word on sportsmanship and officials recruitment, respectively, Rockford and Canton were among those honored this spring with Michigan Student Broadcast Awards from the Michigan Association of Broadcasters Foundation.
The MHSAA sponsors awards for Sports Public Service Announcement for both TV and radio. Rockford’s Payton Longeliere, Mylei Cullivan and Lindsay Carpenter won the TV category with “Sportsmanship – It’s Not That Hard” shown below:
The PSA was deemed suitable for broadcast and was shown on FOX Sports Detroit during the Basketball Finals and will be included in broadcasts on MHSAA.tv.
Canton’s winning radio PSA by Fiona Hughes detailed the importance of “Officials Recruitment” – click to listen.
Additionally, Rockford’s Noah Ike, Noah Stallworth, Dimitra Colovos and Tatum Kleis were recognized as the top sports announcing team for TV, and Canton’s Jack Krumm and Max Mulvaney were the award-winning team for radio.

Find Your Team's Playoff Video Stream

The list of links to live-streamed broadcasts of this weekend’s 11 and 8-Player Football Playoff games has been posted to the Michigan High School Athletic Association website and will be updated to include not only the rest of this weekend’s games and next weekend’s 11-Player Semifinals but also next week’s girls volleyball and girls swimming & diving events as those broadcasts become finalized.
Click for the list of broadcasts. It is anticipated that all 33 football games Saturday will be streamed live. All 16 Volleyball Quarterfinals also are expected to be streamed live.
The Volleyball Semifinals and Finals and Lower Peninsula Girls Swimming & Diving Finals during the weekend of Jan. 14-16 will be broadcast on MHSAA.tv. Football Finals in both 8-player on Jan. 16 and 11-player Jan. 22-23 will be broadcast by FOX Sports Detroit (with schedule of streaming and cable to be announced).
