Winter comes to a close: And with a flurry. Saginaw won its first MHSAA title since 2008, Lansing Sexton repeated in Class B, Flint Beecher won its first title since 1987 and Southfield Christian won its first title in school history after going 1-19 two seasons ago. Check back later this week for a full Boys Basketball Finals in review.

In this week's edition, we provide some quick 8-player football history in advance of this weekend's pair of Finals, present Game Balls to high achievers in volleyball and tell how the Southwest 10 Conference is recruiting volleyball officials from among current players via the MHSAA Legacy Program.
The 5-minute program each week includes feature stories from MHSAA.com or network affiliates, along with "Be the Referee," a 60-second look at the fine art of officiating.
