Gymnastics is back in the spotlight with the success of the U.S. national team at the Summer Olympics.
However, girls gymnastics is a winter high school sport in Michigan, and we'll kick off the winter portion of "Through the Years" by looking at the 45-year history of that tournament.

The MHSAA gymnastics season finished Saturday with the Individual Finals at Rockford High School.

KORF WINS DIVISION 1 ALL-AROUND – Morgan Korf of Rockford/Sparta captured all-around honors in the Division 1 competition at the MHSAA Individual Gymnastics Finals. Her highest finish was an outright third place in the uneven bars, where she scored 9.500; her overall score was 37.825. GRACE ON THE BEAM – Mary Grace Fries of Jackson Lumen Christi took top honors in the balance beam in Division 1 with a score of 9.500. Watch the all of the individual balance beam action and order DVDs by Clicking Here.
MOMBER WINS D2 BALANCE BEAM – Kelley Momber of the Grand Rapids Kenowa Hills/Grandville/West Catholic co-op team took top honors on the balance beam in Division 2 with a 9.225 score.
SIEBERT SHINES ON FLOOR – Ellie Siebert of Grand Rapids Forest Hills won the floor exercise competition in Division 2, posting a 9.400. Watch all of the individual floor exercise action and order DVDs by Clicking Here.
