From the President: State of Soccer

Petoskey boys and girls soccer coach Zach Jonker, the first-year president of the Michigan High School Soccer Coaches Association, talked with us Friday about all things MHSAA soccer – past, present and future.

Among topics discussed: Changes in the game since Jonkerd's high school playing days of the 1990s, the boost that comes when the U.S. national team is successful, and the effect the U.S. Soccer Development Academy is having on boys soccer this fall.

Highlight Reel: Ludington/Tawas

The Tawas boys soccer team defeated Ludington 1-0 in overtime a Division 3 Regional Semifinal on Wednesday. See below for highlights and a link to watch the game in full (click the headers to watch). 

RITTER SHOOTS - JANIS SAVES! - Ludington got a 1-on-1 opportunity during the second half, but David Ritter's shot was stopped by Tawas keeper Tim Janis. 

MYLES SCORES ON THE REBOUND - With less than five minutes to play in the first overtime period, Bryce Miles scores on a rebound for Tawas.
