FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - Nov. 24, 2008 Farmers Insurance Signs On As MHSAA Football Playoffs Sponsor EAST LANSING, Mich. – Nov. 24 – Farmers Insurance has become a corporate partner of the Michigan High School Athletic Association, and is the presenting sponsor of this year’s MHSAA Football Playoffs. “We’re pleased to have Farmers Insurance join with the MHSAA to promote high school sports,” said John E. “Jack” Roberts, executive director of the MHSAA. “This sponsorship helps us keep ticket prices down and support of local programs up at a time when Michigan’s economy is struggling mightily. The MHSAA is a private, not-for-profit corporation of voluntary membership by over 1,600 public and private senior high schools and junior high/middle schools which exists to develop common rules for athletic eligibility and competition. No government funds or tax dollars support the MHSAA, which was the first such association nationally to not accept membership dues or tournament entry fees from schools.
