Air Times Set For MHSAA Girls Competitive Cheer & Volleyball Finals
On FSN Detroit

EAST LANSING, Mich.  – March 28 –  The telecasts of the Finals of Michigan High School Athletic Association Tournaments in Girls Competitive Cheer and Girls Volleyball will take place in April on the Association’s exclusive television partner, FSN Detroit.

The Girls Competitive Cheer Finals telecast is a production of the third round of competition, packaged as a one-hour telecast.  The event took place at The DeltaPlex in Grand Rapids, March 9-10.  The initial air dates for the Girls Competitive Cheer Finals are:

  • Division 1 -- April 21 -- 8 p.m.
  • Division 2 -- April 21 -- 9 p.m.
  • Division 3 -- April 22 -- 1 p.m.
  • Division 4 -- April 22 -- 2 p.m.
The Girls Volleyball Finals took place at University Arena in Kalamazoo, March 17.  The initial air dates for this event are:
  • Class D -- April 7 -- 6:30 p.m.
  • Class C -- April 7 -- 8 p.m.
  • Class A -- April 8 -- Noon
  • Class B -- April 8 -- 2 p.m.

These events will also receive additional airings at dates to be determined.  Consult your local listings.

The MHSAA is a private, not-for-profit corporation of voluntary membership by over 1,800 public and private senior high schools and junior high/middle schools which exists to develop common rules for athletic eligibility and competition.  No government funds or tax dollars support the MHSAA, which was the first such association nationally to not accept membership dues or tournament entry fees from schools.  Member schools which enforce these rules are permitted to participate in MHSAA tournaments, which attract approximately 1.6 million spectators each year.
