FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - Nov. 2, 2005 Audio Commentary Of L.P. Cross Country Finals Available EAST LANSING, Mich. – Nov. 2 –Fans unable to attend Saturday's Michigan High School Athletic Association Lower Peninsula Cross Country Finals at Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn will have a new way to keep up with the action through the MHSAA's Internet Broadcast Network. Launched earlier this Fall, this new Web site – mhsaanetwork.com – is the Internet audio home for MHSAA Finals in a variety of sports; carries the new weekly commentary, MHSAA Perspective; and is providing MHSAA member schools the opportunity to broadcast audio of their athletic events. Coverage of the morning races in Divisions 3 and 4 will begin shortly before 10 a.m. (EST) on Saturday; and afternoon coverage is projected to start shortly before 1:30 p.m. for Division 1 and 2 action. The audio commentary will be the public address feed from MIS, where a pair of announcers, working with spotters at different vantage points around the course, will be able to keep fans on site and on the Internet, abreast of race developments. In addition to the live coverage, the races will also be archived for on-demand listening following the event. The MHSAA Internet Broadcast Network is powered by EZStream.com. The MHSAA Web site will also post full results at the Lower Peninsula Cross Country Finals about an hour after each race. The MHSAA is a private, not-for-profit corporation of voluntary membership by over 1,800 public and private senior high schools and junior high/middle schools which exists to develop common rules for athletic eligibility and competition. No government funds or tax dollars support the MHSAA, which was the first such association nationally to not accept membership dues or tournament entry fees from schools.
