Group Ticket Sales Underway For Girls Basketball Finals;
Orders Being Accepted Through CMU Athletic Ticket Office

EAST LANSING, Mich. – Oct. 21 – Group ticket sales are now underway for the 2003 Michigan High School Athletic Association Girls Basketball Finals at Rose Arena in Mt. Pleasant, December 4-6.

Under the group program, groups of 10 or more can obtain a substantial discount off the standard general admission ticket price for any session of the semifinals or finals. For the girls basketball semifinals and finals, the discount is 50 percent off the standard $6.00 semifinal and $7.00 final ticket price.

“We hope that groups across the state will again take advantage of this opportunity to support high school sports,” said John R. Johnson, communications director of the MHSAA. “This is an excellent opportunity for school groups, youth teams and the like to come out and experience the excitement of high school athletics."
In order to qualify for the group discount, all orders must be submitted to the Central Michigan University Athletic Ticket Office, postmarked by November 14. No group orders postmarked after the deadline date will be accepted. The tickets are good for general admission seating in the upper level of Rose Arena.

Lower level sideline seats will be sold exclusively on a reserved basis, with selected portions of those seats being held for initial purchase by the participating teams in each session. There is no additional charge for reserved seat tickets. Reserved tickets are not available for purchase through the group ticket program. Public sale of tickets will begin Nov. 17 exclusively through the CMU Athletic Ticket Office.

A Group Ticket Order Form for the MHSAA Girls Basketball Finals may be obtained from the CMU Athletic Ticket Office, Rose Arena, Mt. Pleasant, MI 48859; or can be downloaded from the MHSAA Web site at www.mhsaa.com. In addition, group tickets can be ordered by telephone through the Central Michigan University Athletic Ticket Office at 1-888-FIRE-UP-2 (1-888-347-3872).

The MHSAA is a private, not-for-profit corporation of voluntary membership by over 1,200 public and private senior high schools and junior high/middle schools which exists to develop common rules for athletic eligibility and competition. No government funds or tax dollars support the MHSAA, which was the first such association nationally to not accept membership dues or tournament entry fees from schools. Member schools which enforce these rules are permitted to participate in MHSAA tournaments, which attract approximately 1.6 million spectators each year.
