EAST LANSING, Mich. - Feb. 23 - Group ticket sales are now underway for the 2001 Michigan High School Athletic Association Girls Volleyball Finals at University Arena in Kalamazoo, March 17.

Under the group program, groups of 10 or more can obtain a substantial discount off the standard general admission ticket price for the four championship matches. Group tickets are priced at $3.00 each - the standard price for the finals is $5.00 to watch the championship matches.

"This is an excellent opportunity for school groups, youth teams and the like to come out and experience the excitement of high school athletics," said John R. Johnson, communications director of the MHSAA. "We hope that groups across the state will again take advantage of this opportunity to support high school sports."

In order to qualify for the group discount, all orders must be submitted to volleyball finals tournament magager, postmarked by March 9. No group orders postmarked after the deadline date will be accepted. All seating at the event is general admission, and only one ticket is required to watch all four championship matches.

A Group Ticket Order Form for the MHSAA Girls Volleyball Finals may be obtained exclusively from the MHSAA web site at www.mhsaa.com.

The MHSAA is a private, not-for-profit corporation of voluntary membership by over 1,300 public and private senior high schools and junior high/middle schools which exists to develop common rules for athletic eligibility and competition. No government funds or tax dollars support the MHSAA, which was the first such association nationally to not accept membership dues or tournament entry fees from schools. Member schools which enforce these rules are permitted to participate in MHSAA tournaments, which attract over 1.6 million spectators each year.
