Group Tickets Order Form

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Oct. 13 - Group and general public ticket sales are now underway for the 2000 Michigan High School Athletic Association Girls Basketball Finals at Rose Arena in Mt. Pleasant, November 30-December 2.

Under the group program, groups of 10 or more can obtain a substantial discount off the standard general admission ticket price for any session of the semifinals or finals. For the girls basketball semifinals and finals, the discount is 50 percent off the standard $5.00 semifinal and $6.00 final ticket price.

"This is an excellent opportunity for school groups, youth teams and the like to come out and experience the excitement of high school athletics," said John R. Johnson, communications director of the MHSAA. "We hope that groups across the state will again take advantage of this opportunity to support high school sports."

In each of the past three seasons, approximately 1,000 tickets were distributed through group sales, and the event attendance for the three years the event has been at Rose Arena have hit all-time highs. Last year's three-day attendance set a new record of 21,606, including a record finals day attendance of 10,958.

In order to qualify for the group discount, all orders must be submitted to the Central Michigan University Athletic Ticket Office, postmarked by November 10. No group orders postmarked after the deadline date will be accepted. The tickets are good for general admission seating in the upper level of Rose Arena.

For the first time in 2000, lower level sideline seats will be sold exclusively on a reserved basis, with selected portions of those seats being held for initial purchase by the participating teams in each session. There is no additional charge for reserved seat tickets.

A Group Ticket Order Form for the MHSAA Girls Basketball Finals may be obtained from the CMU Athletic Ticket Office, Rose Arena, Mt. Pleasant, MI 48859; or can be downloaded here on the MHSAA web site.

In addition, tickets can be ordered by telephone through the Central Michigan University Athletic Ticket Office at 1-888-FIRE-UP-2.

The MHSAA is a private, not-for-profit corporation of voluntary membership by over 1,300 public and private senior high schools and junior high/middle schools which exists to develop common rules for athletic eligibility and competition. No government funds or tax dollars support the MHSAA, which was the first such association nationally to not accept membership dues or tournament entry fees from schools. Member schools which enforce these rules are permitted to participate in MHSAA tournaments conducted in 12 sports for girls and 12 sports for boys which attract over 1.5 million spectators each year.
